Position Description
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Wilmington Police Department's Technology, Training & Recruiting Division by receiving phone calls, greeting and directing visitors, creating and distributing correspondence, transcribing documents, copying, faxing, making travel arrangements, distributing mail, completing reports, maintaining office supply inventory, completing departmental purchase orders, processing invoices, assisting with budget preparation, assisting recruiting staff, and maintaining records and files. Other duties include monitoring the budget, keeping employees informed of work-related activities, assisting other divisions and providing back up support for other clerical staff.
Typical Tasks
Typical tasks include invoice processing, department credit card processing, maintaining/ordering supplies, assisting recruiting staff with clerical needs for Academy students. This position will also be required to assist another division with credit card processing and ordering supplies each month.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe PDF Conversions.
Note: A background investigation, polygraph, and drug-screen are required for the selected candidate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.
Working Conditions: This position generally requires work in an office setting.
