What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator Medium - C&M position at City of Winston-Salem?
Performs responsible semi-skilled work in the operation of motorized equipment.
Operates a front end loader, a backhoe, rubber tire loader, trencher and related equipment in the maintenance, installation and repair of water and sewer lines, and other water/sewer system appurtenances; operates a heavy roller; operates long bed with hoist and large mowing equipment; operates sewer cleaning equipment; may service and makes minor repairs to equipment; when not operating equipment performs semi-skilled work on the job site.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eleventh grade and considerable experience in the operation of motorized equipment.
Possession of a valid North Carolina Class B Commercial (CDL) Driver's License with a tanker endorsement. Required to work On Call Rotation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. and maneuver up to 1 mile; must be able to operate light, medium and heavy equipment; work with large and small objects. This position will work outdoors and may be exposed to changing weather, adverse smells and sights, loud sounds and repetitive operations.
