What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker - Traffic Field Operations position at City of Winston-Salem?
Under direct supervision, performing routine semi-skilled construction, does related work as required.
Assist in the construction and repair of Stormwater Systems; lays and fits pipes; cuts and breaks up concrete and asphalt pavement; excavates ditches to grade; cleans and sweeps city streets; may assist in the excavating, grading and shoring up of trenches for the installation or maintenance of drainage systems; assist in the installation and repairs drainage lines and the city storm water system; uses standard tools and equipment of trade; cleans and care for tools and equipment; assists staff during snow/ice removal. Works 12 hour shifts 7 days a week during snow and ice removal.
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to the completion of the eleventh grade and considerable experience in building and grounds maintenance work.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: General knowledge of the methods and practices of drainage system; ability to follow instructions and to complete satisfactorily assigned tasks in a timely manner; ability to work long hours under sometimes adverse weather conditions. Must be able to lift carry 50 pounds.
Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.Salary : $39,225
