What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Crew Coordinator - Outfall position at City of Winston-Salem?
Performs intermediate skilled trades work cutting access points into outfall of water and sewer lines, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Utilities Supervisor. Continuous oversight is exercised over all personnel within the team.
- Assigns, supervises and participates in the work of unskilled and semi-skilled workers and equipment operators in the maintenance of outfall areas and high priority sewer lines; makes and adjusts work assignments as necessary.
- Discusses job requirements and receives detailed instructions from supervisor.
- Inspects work in progress; ensures work conforms with instructions.
- Requisitions necessary equipment and materials; maintains time and material records.
- Performs or assists in performing more difficult tasks; trains and instructs employees.
- Prepares simple work reports.
- Makes repairs to and maintains utility water and sewer infrastructure.
- Safely removes large diameter trees using chainsaw.
- Completes a pre-trip inspection of equipment and vehicle.
- Sets up and maintains a safe work environment.
- Performs annual performance evaluations for personnel within the team.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED and considerable experience in the construction of outfalls, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably knowledgeable in clearing of large and small trees and cutting access points with and without machinery. Preferably possesses ability to teach and instruct the crew in successfully completing each assignment. Knowledge of operating machinery, including skid steer, excavator, and mowing tractor. Preferably experienced in operating combination jet/vac equipment for sewer pipe maintenance.

Special Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain tanker endorsement within 3 months of hire.
- Mandatory on-call rotation.
