Position Summary
Performs a variety of professional level duties involved in coordinating various accounting and procurement activities; analyzes and reconciles financial transactions; prepares and maintains accurate financial records and reports; assists in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and procurement documents. Considerable independent judgement and initiative are required in performing assigned duties.
Essential Functions
- Assists in monitoring transactions to ensure they are applied to the appropriate line item and are within budget.
- Performs or assists with reports and monitoring expenditures and revenue.
- Performs or assists in the procurement process to expedite the purchases of goods and services.
- Performs quality assurance/quality control checks of data accuracy, analyzes aggregated and individualized data sets, and prepares written reports.
- Performs data research and develops and prepares specialized reports for management.
- Develops and creates custom budgeting and financial reports, makes recommendations for the development and revision of budgeting and accounting related documents, procedures, and forms.
- Participates in the preparation of the annual budget, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and recommended budget practices.
- Prepares or oversees a variety of complex financial reports and statements.
- Prepares monthly revenue and expenditure statements.
- Regular in-person attendance during City and department business hours, since face-to-face interaction and coordination of work with other employee, outside colleagues, residents, vendors and all immediate access to documents or other information located only in the workplace is required.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field. Three years of progressively responsible experience performing governmental budget and financial analysis or professional accounting work. May consider an equivalent combination of training and experience in lieu of education requirements.
Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and stand as necessary.
Ability to access, input and retrieve information from a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 20lbs.
Work with a variety of hand and computer diagnostic tools to identify, repair and solve problems.
Tasks involve the ability to exert physical effort in sedentary to occasionally heavy work, which may involve some lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials weighing between 0-20 pounds.

Pay: $49,638.00 - $67,000.00 per year
