The bookmobile library assistant is responsible for driving and operating the bookmobile along with a wide variety of library services including daily circulation functions, programming and assisting patrons. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Performs circulation desk procedures, such as checking in and checking out materials, and putting away materials on the bookmobile and in the library.Provides reference and general assistance.Performs all driving and non-driving duties associated with the bookmobile including loading and unloading carts, inventory, stocking and staffing.Provides information and recommendations that can be used for material selection.Keeps a record of patron requests for materials not currently in the library.Processes, withdraws, repairs, or reconditions library materials.Shelves library materials and checks shelves for accuracy.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Provides reader’s advisory and social interaction with patrons at all stops.Shelves books.Reads shelves and puts books in order.Performs inventory of books and materials at the end of each shift.Pulls books for new spine labels.Keeps familiar with upcoming programs and schedules on the bookmobile and the library.Promotes library programming.Keeps the bookmobile clean and orderly; including sweeping, dusting, organizing and general cleaning duties.
