What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal - Streets (Long term) position at City of Woodbury?
SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of the position is to perform street, sign and storm water system activities, or perform other duties as directed by the Street Division Managers.
Please be aware that due to maintenance activities needing to be completed, all seasonal staff could occasionally work outside fo their designated areas and working hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform street, sign and storm water system activities.
· Use of hand tools, such as shovels, lutes, brooms, and rakes.
· Operate small equipment, such as leaf blowers and plate compactors.
· Driving pick-up trucks with trailers.
· Being able to read and understand manuals.
· Cleaning and maintaining the shop and vehicles.
· Able to perform manual and semi-skilled labor in a safe manner.
· Perform other duties as directed by the Streets Division Managers.
SEMI-SKILLED TASKS:
· Pot hole Patching
· Crack Sealing
· Paving
· Spray Patching
· Concrete work
· Traffic sign repairs
· Setting up road work zones
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
Demonstrate initiative and independence in the effective completion of work responsibilities and assignments.
Demonstrate courteous and respectful conduct towards the public.
Submit accurate and timely records of hours for labor, equipment, and materials.
Keep the Street staff and the Street Managers informed of matters of relevance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a valid driver's license
Minimum age of 18
