JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for administrative oversight, visioning, leadership, planning, coordinating and control of the Human Resources Department. Administers a broad range of human resource management functions citywide, including labor relations, employment relations, staffing, compensation, employee benefits, policy and procedure development, training and development, performance management, personnel records, risk management, and workers compensation. Serves as senior staff advisor to the City Manager, City Council, and city departments on all personnel matters.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Public Administration, Business Administration, Psychology or related field with a minimum of five (5) years' progressively responsible human resources related experience; or a combination of bachelor's degree with additional experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be accepted by the City.
Previous supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CLRP, IPMA-CP, or other professional human resources certification.
SALARY:
The annual salary range for the Human Resources Director is $112,892 to $163,696, with an anticipated hiring range of $112,892 to $129,833, based on qualifications of the successful candidate. We offer a very competitive group benefits package along with an IMRF pension.
