What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Engineering Intern position at City of Wyoming, MI?
This internship position is an excellent opportunity to learn basic principles of municipal engineering and build soft skills important for working in the industry. Work responsibilities are split between the field and office. Field work may include water quality and other data collection, inspection of city infrastructure, construction observation, and other tasks. Office work may include scanning plans, updating records, preparing minor designs, completing minor GIS (mapping) projects, and other tasks. This position will provide valuable experience in reading plans, understanding construction specifications, field inspection, GIS, communication, organization, and other skills.
The position is full-time, 38 hours per week. The work week is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A City vehicle is provided for any field work during the work day. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. Candidates must be able to work in various climates and operate light tools.
