Job Description
The Cemetery Sexton is a crucial role within the City of Yazoo City. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our cemetery grounds.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling routine inspections of the cemetery to identify areas that require repair or clean-up services.
- Reviewing and assisting maintenance staff in the upkeep of the cemetery, including opening and closing plots, weeding, mowing, and repairs.
- Collecting fees for burials and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records.
- Providing training and guidance to employees and temporary staff to correct deficiencies.
- Assigning daily tasks and instructions to employees to maintain scenic grounds, cemeteries, paths, and roadways according to weather and facility's maintenance schedule and conditions.
