Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide safe and fun activities for the Summer Playground Program. This is accomplished by training, supervising and evaluating seasonal staff; coordinating, planning and developing summer parks and playgrounds. Oversee all summer camp locations at least twice per day to keep Directors on schedule and access needs. Provide each camp with needed supplies. Precipitate in activities with the campers. Communicate with staff daily, meet with parents or guardians when needed. Effectively enforce all City of York Policies and procedures. Meet with Director/Aides to discuss any violations and issue a statement of understanding. Keep in contact with Recreation Specialist for any needs or incidents. Attend weekly meeting with Directors and Recreation Specialist weekly.

Communicate effectively with staff on camp schedules, policies and disciplinary actions. Meet with parents or guardians as needed. Effectively enforce all City of York Policies and procedures. Meet with Director/Aides to discuss any violations and issue a statement of understanding.
Keep in contact with Recreation Specialist for any needs or incidents. Attend weekly meeting with Directors and Recreation Specialist weekly.
Transport campers and camp staff to various locations
Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must pass a background check, Drug Test and provide a PA Child Abuse History Clearance Certificate, FBI Clearance, PA State police clearance and Mandated Reporter Certificate.
