What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parking Bureau Supervisor Second Shift position at City of York?
Oversee and coordinate maintenance and operation of parking facilities during evening and night hours. This is accomplished by monitoring cameras for parking facilities to help identify and respond to operational issues, serve as parking dispatch for evening operations, direct evening parking enforcement staff to areas of need, occasionally assist guests with entering and exiting where needed, provide input on the Parking budget that will address needs of night/evening operations. Coordinating special events and other projects as assigned.
1. Supervise and coordinate operation of parking facilities.
2. Communicate and dispatch maintenance and parking enforcement where needed.
3. Document and report to Assistant Parking Bureau Manager and Parking Bureau Manager.
4. Maintain Files and documents.
Direct Maintenance and Parking Enforcement Staff
1. Direct Maintenance and Parking Enforcement staff to areas of need.
2. Monitor cameras to identify where customers may need assistance.
3. Serve as dispatch for evening parking enforcement.
4. Provide input for departmental budget for evening needs.
5. Adress operation issues where needed.
Data Collection and Special Event Coordination
1. Collecting and organizing parking data files
2. Coordination and management of parking operations for special events.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year supervision experience. Previous experience in Parking management preferred.
Supervision: Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or department including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. A first line supervisor typically performs these functions.
Human Collaboration Skills: Work may require providing advice to others outside direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies. Contacts may require the consideration of different points of view to reach agreement. Elements of persuasion may be necessary to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas.
Freedom to Act: The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. The assignment is usually reviewed upon completion.
Technical Skills: Work requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organization.
Reading: Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.
Writing: Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
Math: Ability to deal with a system of real numbers; and practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement. Valid Class C Driver's License issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
All persons who become employed by the City on or after the effective date of this section (May 18, 2022) shall be or become residents of York County or any county contiguous to York County (Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Hartford, Baltimore, and Carroll Counties), within six (6) months from the first date the employee achieves permanent employment status.
Must pass a background check, drug test and provide the PA Child Abuse History Clearnce Check. Nore: Child Abuse History Clearance must be dated within one (1) year from the date of application and must show that "no record exists".
Salary : $28
