We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Director of Public Works in York, PA.

Job Summary:

The Director of Public Works will provide strategic leadership and management of the City's public works operations, including infrastructure development, maintenance, and repair. This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to improve public works operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective delivery of services
• Provide technical guidance and support to staff, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Manage budgets and financial resources, prioritizing spending and optimizing returns on investment
• Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to achieve shared goals and objectives
• Maintain accurate records and reports, providing regular updates to senior management and city officials

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business administration, public administration)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in public works management or a related field
• Proven track record of success in budget management, project planning, and team leadership
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and make informed decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
