**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**
Under the direction of a Librarian, assists in professional library tasks of acquisition, circulation, adult programming, and reference duties. In addition to performing the primary duties of Library Technician I and II, a Library Technician III has duties including but not limited to supervision, management and training of library paraprofessionals of a lower classification. Work is performed under the supervision of a librarian. Performs other work as requested. Note: Some employees within this classification are hired on a part-time basis and paid at an hourly rate.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in paraprofessional library work.
**SUBSTITUTIONS**
Equivalent higher education from an accredited school of library and information science may substitute for work experience.
**CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS**
(Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout employment in this classification.) None.

There are occasions where the test room is filled to capacity and applicants are asked to return on another day for testing.
