Overview: We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician 2 with specialized trade experience and versatile skill sets to join our team. In addition to performing maintenance tasks across various disciplines, this role will involve mentoring and providing guidance to Maintenance Technician 1, fostering their skill development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality maintenance services. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.

The visual acuity required to perform work at or within an arm’s reach in performing mechanical or technical trade tasks. Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Utilize specialized trade skills and expertise to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and other facility equipment.
- Diagnose complex equipment malfunctions and failures, analyze root causes and implement effective solutions to restore functionality and prevent recurrence.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of equipment and systems.
- Mentorship and Training:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Maintenance Technician 1, assisting them in developing technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and job knowledge.
- Demonstrate best practices, safe work habits, and proper maintenance techniques, serving as a role model for junior technicians and promoting a culture of excellence.
- Facilitate on-the-job training sessions, shadowing opportunities, and skill-building exercises to support the professional growth and advancement of Maintenance Technician 1.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work collaboratively with other maintenance technicians, supervisors, and departmental teams to achieve organizational objectives and deliver high-quality maintenance services.
- Coordinate maintenance activities and share workload responsibilities with team members, ensuring effective utilization of resources and timely completion of tasks.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment where colleagues feel empowered to contribute ideas, share knowledge, and collaborate on problem-solving initiatives.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inspection reports, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques, compiling a repository of knowledge to facilitate training and continuous improvement efforts.
- Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while performing maintenance tasks, prioritizing the health and well-being of oneself and others in the work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician, with expertise in specific trades such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or HVAC.
- Proven ability to mentor and train junior technicians, providing guidance, feedback, and support to facilitate their professional development.
- Strong technical aptitude and proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and maintenance software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information and instructions to team members.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and best practices related to maintenance operations.
