What are the responsibilities and job description for the Train Garden Att. position at City Park Conservancy?
Summary: Attends to the operation and maintenance of the New Orleans Historic Train Garden within the Botanical Garden.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned:
- Operates G-scale trains on weekends and during special events
- Set-up and breakdown for birthday parties. Greet guests and hands-on activities for guests.
- Performs minor repairs and maintains equipment and track on a regular basis.
- Report any problems to Train Master or supervisor.
- Research and report to supervisor any supplies needed for operation and maintenance.
- Implement start-up and close procedures.
- Must have a working knowledge of model trains of all gauges and knowledge of the history of the Train Garden to answer any visitor’s questions.
- Report any Security problems at once to Train Master, supervisor and Park Security
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Must know how to operate Revolution and Train Engineer Control Systems to operate Train Garden.
