Our ethos is simple: we believe thriving parks mean thriving communities.
Community engagement includes Partnerships for Parks, a public-private program of City Parks Foundation and NYC Parks, which supports and champions a growing network of community leaders who care and advocate for the transformation of our neighborhood parks and the Parks and Open Space Partners-NYC coalition of conservancies and alliances. We also administer the NYC Green Fund, a regranting program for parks and open space nonprofits and grassroots organizations.
We produce SummerStage, the iconic free, outdoor performing arts festival in NYC, presenting world-class artists from across the globe and our own neighborhoods on our mainstage in Central Park and in local parks in all five boroughs, and our Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre and roving PuppetMobile present marionette puppet theater throughout New York City.
We connect youngsters to nature in the urban environment through progressive, experiential teaching. Using parks as classrooms, we provide learning experiences and hands-on activities in urban forests, coastal areas, and gardens.
Free golf, tennis, track & field, soccer, and fitness programs bring high-quality instruction and equipment into areas where few organized athletic opportunities exist. We offer leveled training, year-round scholarship coaching, and special pro events.

Responsibilities
- Attend a selection of SummerStage concert performances (estimated 2-4 events/week with variance) between June - October in Central Park and in citywide parks throughout the five boroughs
- Act as the primary brand ambassador representative for the Marketing / Information booth including assisting with booth set up, communicating event details and answering questions for all attendees, encouraging attendees to complete the SummerStage survey and sign up for SummerStage e-newsletters, providing assistance to the SummerStage membership and production teams, and distributing marketing materials.
- Assist with SummerStage social media plan on-site, including posting live updates on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Assist press on-site with check-in, credentials, VIP check-in access and press interviews when needed in addition to coordinating with operations and security team management of the press photo pit
- Additional on-site assistance as needed
- 1 years experience in live events, production, marketing or related field, OR a passion to learn in the field
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Outgoing and personable attitude
- Familiar with social media tools such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, TikTok
- Comfortable being our social media ambassador and appearing on our social channels (TikTok videos, Instagram stories, etc.)
- Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects at once
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and problem solve quickly
- Ability to prioritize and to work independently and proactively on a team
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends and travel independently across the five boroughs
- Bi- or multi-lingual a plus
