Responsible for providing excellent donor experience for all City Rescue Mission donors. The Donor Relations Specialist will uphold the highest standards & confidentiality in the processing of donor data and donations. This is a donor centric and donor data driven role that requires attention to detail when processing donations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain the donor database, gift entries, gift acknowledgements and stewardship.

2. Ensures that all mail is sorted and processed, creating a daily batch log; checks and processes daily credit card payments.

3. Accurate recording and receipt of gifts into Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge in a timely manner.

4. Process incoming gifts based on current policies and procedures.

5. Transfer checks, cash and credit cards to the Finance Department with a notation on how to post totals (i.e., restricted, or unrestricted, etc.)

6. Requires set hours to open mail, process gifts with accurate data entry, and receipt all donations within 48 hours.

7. Works with Finance to ensure donor database totals balance with accounting totals.

8. Coordinate with the print house on mailing list for outgoing donor letters.

9. Research various sources to ensure donors records have the most accurate information. This would include receiving information from the Philanthropy Officer and the Director of Philanthropy.

10. Create and maintain a repertoire of donors thank you letters according to a schedule.

11. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge data; work with Director of Philanthropy pull accurate mailing lists for the newsletters, events and appeals, queries, weekly portfolio reports.

12. Collaborates with the Director of Philanthropy in assisting donors with gift inquiries and/or donor issues.

13. Run a query of all new donors monthly. Review with the Director of Philanthropy the mailing of the new donor welcome package.

14. Provide excellent and timely customer service to donors with questions via phone and email.

15. Other duties as assigned.

16. When interacting with persons served and community may share Christian faith, offer spiritual support, or pray as a witness to your personal testimony and the mission of CRM.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

1. High School Diploma Required

2. Data Entry Proficiency.

3. Knowledge of Database Programs.

4. Experience in gift processing is helpful.

5. Two or more years of experience in fundraising and direct mail.

6. Work experience in non-profit preferred.

7. Must affirm the Statement of Faith and Position Statements

8. Must agree to abide by the Code of Ethics

Skill:

1. Working knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, or experience working with computerized data systems/CRMs.

2. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.

3. Strong self-motivation and the ability to work as a team member; willingness to learn new things and take on new projects to further the goals of the team.

4. Must be able to work in an environment of constant demands and frequent interruptions.

5. Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.

6. Proficient in Microsoft Windows work environment and Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

7. Commitment to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in donor records.
