JOB OPPORTUNITY
The teacher will:
Create an environment conducive to students’ spiritual, academic and social development.
- Plan and implement effective lessons that develop students’ academic habits.
- Consistently model and encourage behavior that cultivates meaningful relationships within students’ classroom and school community.
- Model and implement City School’s Christian religious beliefs, mission, vision, values, philosophy of education and student formation beliefs.
- Demonstrate a passion for both teaching and serving children who are eager to learn.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Charlotte Mason approach to education.
- Create and/or enhance unit plans for content areas.
- Submit weekly lesson plans/daily objectives in a timely manner.
- Enter grades into the gradebook weekly in order to prepare progress and report cards in a timely manner.
- Keep daily records (attendance, behavioral documentation, etc.).
- Communicate well with students, parents, colleagues and supervisors.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings, special events, professional development sessions and teacher work days.
- Effectively steward their students’ spiritual, emotional, social and physical well-being.
- Effectively steward all designated school materials and equipment.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Active member in good standing at a Christian church.
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Hold a teaching license and/or certification.
- Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal skills are required when interacting with all stakeholders.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience, especially in a Charlotte Mason educational setting.
- Preference will be given to bilingual candidates, Spanish.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in social-emotional learning experience.
