Middle School School Teacher

City Tree Christian School is a wonderful community of teachers, staff, and families working together to educate our children in a loving Christian environment. We are a ministry of First Presbyterian Church committed to integrating educational excellence with the Bible-based teachings of Jesus Christ. We are an ethnically and socio-economically diverse school located in downtown San Diego. About 200 students attend our school-age infants through eighth grade. Our school is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Full-time contracted middle school teacher, responsible for teaching a variety of subjects to middle school students. We desire a dependable, mature, and responsible person who is able to integrate their love for Christ with their teaching. Applicants must be passionate about teaching with a strong desire to convey curriculum in an engaging and intentional manner. A part time position is also possible, if applicant prefers part time hours.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and teaching credential required. Experience with children essential.

Salary range $41,000-$65,000, depending on education and experience. Full-time position with benefits.

Position Summary:

• Plan, prepare and conduct lessons in alignment with curriculum and established standards.
• Supervise students during both instructional and non-instructional times.
• Collaborate with colleagues and administration regarding instruction, school events, etc.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents with regard to student education and well-being.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Plan, organize, and deliver stimulating instructional programs as outlines in the school's academic standards and Expected School-Wide Learner Outcomes
• Collaborate with colleagues on integrated academic units
• Participate in hands-on student learning opportunities and trips outside the classroom
• Support student leadership and service
• Motivate and communicate with students of diverse backgrounds
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and administration
• Plan and participate in activities, programs, and learning experiences that complement and further the mission and vision of City Tree Christian School.

Compensation:

• Salaried full-time exempt position-salary will be commensurate with experience

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in the US
• Multiple or Single Subject Teaching Credential
• Classroom teaching experience (preferred)
• Ability to integrate a love for Christ through daily instruction
