HR Payroll Coordinator (aHEO) - 400164GENERAL DUTIESProvides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.Prepares and executes various personnel transactions involving employee recordkeeping, processing of new hires, pay administration, and recruiting.Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources.Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness.Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries.Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages.Performs related duties as assigned.CONTRACT TITLEAssistant to HEOFLSANon-exemptCAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATIONReporting to the Human Resources Manager or his / her Designee, the Human Resources Payroll Coordinator at Kingsborough Community College provides information to faculty and staff regarding payroll and time and leave, maintaining an understanding of College and CUNY policy.The Human Resources Payroll Coordinator will perform various HR and Payroll functions, including but not limited to the following duties : Tracks and maintains time and leave for assigned groups in accordance with College and CUNY time and leave policies; reviews timesheets and accurately computes balances and records information for full-time support staff; calculates and monitors time and leave usage and balances and maintains timecards for adjunct CLTs.Processes employee payroll records weekly, meeting payroll deadlines.Responds to requests for information, investigates and troubleshoots issues and payroll discrepancies, follows up and responds to employee inquiries.Acts as liaison between college payroll office and other college offices and departments to facilitate and expedite the payroll processes.Develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness.Conducts research and develops and maintains reports utilizing appropriate software and database systems including PMS, NYC CHRMS system, CUNYFirst, Excel, Word.Assists with the preparation of compliance reports and audits related to payroll and timekeeping information; assists with auditing biweekly payroll data.Interacts with Office of Payroll Administration (OPA) to resolve problem issues by filing and following up on tickets filed on the City's Remedy System.Reviews and interprets CUNY policies / procedures, regulations, laws and contractual payroll bulletins for implementation on payroll systems.Participates in special projects and initiatives, including the upcoming rollout of the new electronic timekeeping system.Procures office supplies and equipment and verifies deliveries; may work with accounts payable office in the procurement processes.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree required.OTHER QUALIFICATIONSMust have excellent oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated organizational ability and superior interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service within a multicultural community.Experience with Microsoft Excel preferred; experience with CUNYFirst desirable.COMPENSATION$54,268- $60,394BENEFITSCUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification.
