What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician/Janitorial/Transporting position at City Wide Jani Inc?
Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll ensure our facilities are in excellent condition by performing maintenance and repairs, maintaining outdoor areas, and providing janitorial support. You will also transport passengers safely and assist with day-to-day facility operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. If unable to repair, communicate with the Building Engineer.
- Address and resolve maintenance work orders promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, including:
- Emptying trash receptacles
- Cleaning restrooms and sanitizing high-touch areas
- Cleaning windows, floors, and other assigned areas
- Perform snow removal and lawn maintenance to ensure the safety and appeal of outdoor spaces.
- Monitor and maintain an inventory of supplies and tools, ordering replacements as necessary.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including occasional after-hours calls.
- Adhere to health, safety, and operational standards.
- Safely transport passengers to the center using a company vehicle.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in maintenance-related fields are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Must be computer literate and experienced in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to use tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must pass a fingerprint background check, TB test, and drug screening.
- Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various conditions (indoors, outdoors, heights, etc.).
What We Offer:
- Pay: Starting at $18/hour
- Shift: 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday (occasional overtime may be required).
