Position Summary
The Food & Beverage (F&B) Director for City Winery’s flagship location will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, ensuring smooth and efficient execution across all concepts within the venue. This includes managing financials, operational efficiency, and day-to-day operations while leading the leadership team across events, programming, retail and restaurant operations. The F&B Director will partner with the COO and National team to continue growing this high-traffic, high-revenue location. As the highest-grossing venue, this role is key to sustaining and enhancing City Winery’s brand presence in the industry.

Responsibilities
General Operations
Oversee all aspects of the flagship location’s operations, including the venues, events, retail and day-to-day F&B service
Manage and support the operational leaders and Event/Programming leadership team in the successful execution of daily operations
Review and analyze business trends, adjust strategies, and continuously improve performance
Collaborate with senior leadership to plan and execute initiatives for the venue
Ensure alignment with City Winery’s principles of quality service, food, and wine
Lead by example in enforcing company policies, procedures, and practices
Implement controls to reduce waste and theft and ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance
Partner with internal teams to drive brand development and maintain the community connection
Monitor and manage the maintenance and condition of all venue facilities
Leadership
Foster a positive company culture, build morale, and maintain a productive work environment
Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of senior team members
Conduct regular team meetings, ensuring clear communication of goals, updates, and expectations
Lead staff training programs and develop management staff to grow their leadership capabilities
Ensure safe working conditions and handle personnel issues in partnership with HR when needed
Financial Management
Oversee P&L for the location, ensuring financial goals are met, including food and beverage costs, labor costs, and operational expenditures
Establish and monitor budgets, purchasing specifications, and waste control procedures
Supervise purchasing, ensuring it meets budgetary goals
Analyze financial performance and identify trends to improve revenue
Train and monitor management staff to ensure understanding and execution of financial controls
Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks, including financial reports and personnel forms
Oversee payroll processing and benefits administration in collaboration with HR
Ensure accurate data entry into company systems
Ensure exceptional guest experiences across all touchpoints by maintaining the highest standards of service, food quality, and atmosphere.
Oversee the guest feedback process and implement improvements based on guest comments and insights.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute promotions, events, and menu offerings that align with City Winery’s brand and drive traffic to the restaurant and venue.
Ensure seamless communication between all departments, fostering teamwork and delivering superior service.
Work with the Executive Chef and Beverage Director to develop seasonal menus that reflect City Winery’s commitment to quality, creativity, and local sourcing.
Ensure that the wine program aligns with City Winery’s focus on providing guests with a unique, high-quality experience that showcases both food and wine pairings.
Continuously evaluate the beverage program, recommending new offerings and adjusting based on guest preferences and market trends.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in multi-unit or high-volume restaurant/venue operations or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in alcoholic beverage service
Proven ability to create a high-performance workplace with strong leadership skills that foster results
Excellent financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management (labor, food, and direct operating costs)
A deep passion for hospitality, food, wine, and live events
Ability to multitask, delegate, and manage several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Strong ability to mentor, train, develop, and hold teams accountable
Superior knowledge of P&L management and driving revenue growth
Experience with health department regulations and maintaining compliance
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
Strong culinary and wine knowledge
Proficient in technology and computer systems used for management and reporting
Ability to meet physical demands, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed
Flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to travel for business-related meetings and events
