JOB SUMMARY: Under general
supervision, enforces applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances to promote
property maintenance standards for single-family, multi-family, and commercial
properties. This position will interact with City of Arlington citizens,
property owners, tenants, and business owners/managers to promote safe, strong,
and attractive neighborhoods.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Conduct inspections of single-family properties, multi-family properties, commercial properties, and public swimming pools.
• Perform administrative duties such as preparing emails, case documentation, notices of violation, affidavits, and inspection warrants.
• Effectively correspond verbally and in writing with citizens and route complaints to appropriate personnel. Read, interpret and explain ordinances, follow standard operating procedures.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Issue citations and testify in court.
• Work with citizens and connect them with available services.
• Promote and contribute to Code Compliance programs and community events.
• Remove illegally placed bandit signs.
• Conduct nuisance abatements using a variety of methods and tools.
• Coordinate and facilitate contractor abatements of code violations.
