JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, assists Health Services staff with execution of the City’s mosquito borne disease
prevention program and administrative functions of all health programs within the division’s scope of
services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Apply principles of integrated mosquito management to reduce mosquito populations and reduce the local
risk of mosquito borne disease.
• Conduct mosquito trapping and collection of field trap samples following lab sample chain of custody
procedures.
• Respond to citizen requests for information and complaints by inspecting and surveying a variety of
properties, lands, and facilities to determine the presence of mosquito breeding conditions.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Prepare, compile, and maintain program data including maps, trap data, investigation and inspection reports,
and larvicide application records.
• Maintain specialized vector control tools and equipment.
• Demonstrate competence working independently with a high level of accountability and initiative.
• Assist with filing, data entry, mailings, and other administrative functions as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Knowledge of office and administrative practices and procedures.
• Skill in using PC Software including current Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
• Skill in communicating professionally and tactfully with other city employees and the public by oral and written
means.
• Skill with organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment utilizing knowledge of the organization's policies.
• Ability to work independently under general instructions.
• Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including but not limited to filing, pulling, seeing, sorting,
squatting, standing, stooping, twisting body, typing, walking, and writing.
• Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to PC, telephone, calculator, scanner,
and copier.

• Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly.
