Cityside Fiber seeks an experienced FTTH Service Drop Technician to deliver high-quality fiber internet installations and maintenance. You'll be the frontline ambassador for our services, ensuring seamless "last mile" connections to homes and businesses. Success requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-first attitude in fast-paced field environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair fiber drop cables from distribution points to customer premises.
- Plan pathways, route fiber optic cables, and perform trenching/boring with minimal property impact.
- Troubleshoot signal issues and test connections for optimal performance.
- Operate equipment (e.g., trenchers, boring machines) safely and efficiently.
- Landscaping and Property Preservation including concrete sidewalk and driveway boring.
- Communicate clearly with customers to schedule visits, explain installations, and provide updates.
- Document work orders and adhere to safety/compliance standards.
- Uphold Cityside Fiber’s values of trust, integrity, and innovation.
- 2 years as a drop technician (fiber optic experience preferred).
- High school diploma; technical certifications (e.g., Fiber Optic Association) a plus.
- Proficiency in aerial/underground installations and pathway design.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all conditions.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license with clean record and reliable insured vehicle.
