About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Asphalt Lead Field Supervisor to be an important part of our team. The Asphalt Lead Field Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, while actively participating in hands-on work. The Asphalt Lead Field Supervisor oversees asphalt paving projects, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality completion. This role includes supervising field crews, coordinating with project managers, and managing daily operations. Additionally, the supervisor handles Outside Plant (OSP) work for fiber networks and specializes in asphalt restoration with a focus on grind and cap operations ranging from 18" to 60”. This role is critical in ensuring the successful completion of asphalt projects within Cityside Fiber Networks Construction Division. This opportunity sits within Cityside Fiber Networks Construction Division (CFN CX). This team is responsible for all construction activities that have not been completed by general contractors. You will operate in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment and excel in hitting the company’s objectives. To be successful, you will have superior communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand Cityside Fiber’s core purpose and values and be passionate about what we do.
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of asphalt paving and OSP crews.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Monitor work progress and quality, making adjustments as needed.
• Lead, train, and mentor field staff.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Address and resolve safety concerns promptly.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
• Provide regular updates on project status and address any issues that arise.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors as needed.
• Inspect work sites to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
• Resolve any quality issues that arise during construction.
• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of equipment.
• Manage the scope of work (SOW) for OSP fiber network projects, including planning, permitting, and installation.
• Ensure coordination between asphalt paving and OSP installations to minimize disruptions.
• Supervise fiber network installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Oversee asphalt restoration projects, particularly grind and cap operations ranging from 18" to 60".
• Ensure the use of proper techniques and equipment for grinding and capping operations.
• Monitor the quality and durability of asphalt restoration efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, safety protocols and company policies.
• Work in and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and integrity with fellow employees to ensure the overall success of Cityside Fiber.
• Be available to perform possible weekend or overtime work depending on project requirements.

Qualifications

• High energy individual who is willing to be an integral part of a high growth service provider who puts people first, dares to be different and has fun disrupting an industry
• High school degree or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving and construction.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Experience with OSP fiber network projects preferred.
• Relevant certifications in construction management or related fields are preferred.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and project specifications.
• Experience communicating to and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Proven history of excellent customer service and ability to build relationships
• Excellent organizational skills- Ability to multi-task and be highly responsive to internal and external clients
• Demonstrated intense customer focus
• Demonstrated highest level of integrity, intellectual honesty and strong work ethic
• Consistent effort, intense commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond when needed
• Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Valid state driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.

Location

Our Headquarters and field offices are located in Irvine. Our local yard is location in Tustin. You will be required to travel to project/customer sites to fulfill job responsibilities.

Compensation

Starting at $30 an hour (actual starting rate may vary based on candidate’s qualifications, skills and years of experience).

$200 Work Boot Stipend (Received Annually)

$40 Cell Phone Stipend (Received Monthly)
