What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Product Designer, Menu Team - San Francisco position at citystoragesystems?
Senior Product Designer - Menus Product
Who we are
At City Storage Systems, we're building Infrastructure for Better Food. Our goal is to make food more affordable, higher quality and convenient for everyone.
We’re helping restaurants expand their online food delivery businesses and streamline their operations. Currently, that means investing in our two core businesses, CloudKitchens and Otter.
Otter is focused on the digital world - the fastest growing restaurant SaaS company that helps restaurants run their entire onsite and online business on a single, all-inclusive, and intuitive platform.
CloudKitchens is focused on the physical world - the world’s largest real estate business that focuses on building hyper-efficient ghost kitchens in the heart of delivery demand zones, giving restaurateurs a low cost, high profit alternative to opening a brick and mortar restaurant.
Join us in our mission to serve those who serve others.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for:
- Crafting end-to-end experiences that power the heart of every restaurant's digital presence — their menu. You'll shape how menus are created, managed, and optimized across our platform to drive revenue and operational efficiency.
- Collaborating deeply with product managers, engineers, and operations to launch features that simplify complex workflows like pricing, availability, item setup, and modifier configurations — all while keeping scale and usability at the forefront.
- Participating in design critiques and cross-functional reviews to refine ideas, gather rapid feedback, and iterate on high-impact solutions that balance user needs with business goals.
- Enhancing the Menus experience by contributing to our design system and evolving core patterns that support consistency across restaurant tools — from item-level controls to multi-brand management.
- Championing user-centered design by advocating for the needs of restaurant operators, delivery staff, and internal teams, while navigating technical constraints and business trade-offs with clarity and conviction.
This role is ideal for a systems thinker who’s energized by operational complexity, obsessive about details, and motivated by the opportunity to build foundational tools that make restaurants more successful every day.
What we’re looking for
- You have 5 years of experience in product or UX design
- Ability to be a strategic partner by understanding the competitive environment and building a vision for how the product will fit in the market
- Strong full-stack design skills; from interaction design to visual design to system thinking, and everything in between.
- Proven track record in building products from the ground up and working effectively with cross-functional partners
- Solid communication skills and ability to effectively prioritize projects
- Foster a collaborative team environment and make sound judgements based on user data, insights and business objectives
- A deep curiosity and passion for the food industry, translating into innovative designs that change the way we think about how meals make it on a plate
Why join us

Changing the restaurant industry: You’ll be part of a team that helps restaurants succeed in online food delivery.
Collaborative environment: You will receive support and guidance from experienced colleagues and managers, helping you to learn, grow, and achieve your goals, and you’ll work closely with other teams to ensure our customers’ success.
What else do you need to know
This role can be based in our Mountain View or San Francisco location. We believe that people do their best work when they are together. As a company, we’re in the marketplace of ideas and innovation. When you’re constantly innovating, changing how an industry works, inventing new products and processes - and we are doing all these things - we believe we’re better as a team in person. That’s why all of our teams work from one of our office locations 5 days a week. Looking forward to sharing more about a Career of Substance at Otter.
