Who is Freetime Java?

We are a unique coffee store located in the 76 stations in Yuba City and Marysville. The convenience and coffee stores are family owned and operated. The aim of our stores is to create an experience for our customers and employees that is beyond a standard convenience store. Our customers should leave thinking they just stopped at a clean, friendly, locally ran store that they would like to come back to. And we want our employees to feel excited to come to a place they feel gives them an opportunity to contribute, grow, and reach their goals.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a person who enjoys working with the public has a friendly, and outgoing personality, and can work great under pressure. Excellent customer service and a great work environment is our goal! Our team members of the coffee convenience store work very closely and are the biggest part of those goals. Each location allows customers to purchase coffee drinks as well as convenience store items both in store and through the Drive Thru which means it is essential that our team members know their products and are eager to provide accurate, fast service.

This position has the potential to be at both our Marysville and Yuba City locations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso beverages, following company recipes and customer preferences.
• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service, including taking orders, answering questions, and offering product recommendations.
• Operate coffee brewing equipment, grinders, and espresso machines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning equipment, counters, and tables.
• Stock and organize inventory, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
• Handle cash and process payments accurately.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., coffee bags, milk cartons, etc.).
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure.
• Good hand-eye coordination for operating coffee machines and preparing beverages.
• Repeated use of hands and wrists for operating coffee machines, grinders, and cash registers.
• Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for tasks such as pouring, tamping, and pressing buttons.
• Ability to handle hot liquids and equipment safely.
