Civic Media has built a statewide radio and digital media network in Wisconsin with the goal of championing the practice of democracy by empowering honest and informative local voices. We’re merging the legacy of radio with the immediacy of digital to deliver high-quality content to a growing audience via our 21 radio stations, websites, mobile app, and associated social media platforms. Position Overview
We’re looking for a Community Manager to strengthen meaningful engagement among our statewide audience. You’ll oversee volunteer “ambassadors,” collaborate with internal teams, create new content based on local feedback, and ensure that Civic Media’s mission and information reach diverse communities across Wisconsin. The focus is on delivering valuable, issue-based information and gathering input about local concerns affecting our listeners. Some travel will be required to meet with communities and represent Civic Media at events. While the position is hybrid, applicants must reside in Wisconsin. You’ll work remotely and visit our stations and communities as needed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Community Building
- Identify and foster relationships within local, regional, and topical groups aligned with our content and mission.
- Engage with community members—especially via local Facebook groups—by sharing relevant insights from our programming and inviting discussion around local news and civic issues.
- Encourage audiences to voice the concerns and topics most pressing in their communities, relaying that feedback to Civic Media’s shows and internal teams.

Chief Duties
Develop in local, regional and topical Facebook Groups that align with our content or coverage areas
Improve the sharing and interaction around our content.
Help relay questions and information from those communities to internal stakeholders (producers, reporters, content creators and leadership)
Develop a content marketing plan and key objectives in the coming year.
Improve organizational coordination and communication, including adding relevant information to our content calendar on a daily basis.
Create engaging and shareable content for websites, blogs, Facebook pages, newsletters and / or viral content (text, images, video or audio).
Monitor social media campaigns and analyze web traffic from the online community using key performance indicators (KPIs).
Participate in social events, corporate events and workshops.
