Mold Designer creates robust injection mold designs that consider customer standards along with manufacturing best practices.
Nature of assignments, duties, and responsibilities :
- Review customer data for tooling feasibility and propose design solutions.
- Model mold design and create fully tolerance 2D manufacturing prints.
- Confer with shop personnel on manufacturing plans
- Hold internal and external mold design reviews
- Mentor Junior level design engineers
- Work with suppliers to procure hardware and custom components.
- Check peer mold designs
- Support mold trials and mechanical debugging
- Support estimating as needed
- Other duties as assigned by manager
