What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crane Operator position at Civil Construction Contractors, LLC?
Civil Construction Contractors, LLC is currently searching for an experienced mobile Crane Operator to join our growing team (specifically 35T R/T). This is a full-time hourly position. Hours range between 40-50 /- per week. All work performed will be in the industrial workplace.
· 2 years’ crane operations experience in an industrial environment with a solid understanding of crane mechanics, load charts, and safety procedures.
· Ability to operate a crane and other heavy, mobile equipment by viewing hand signals.
· The ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and lifting plans accurately.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Completion of a mobile crane certification is preferred.
· A valid TWIC card required…REQUIRED
· Valid US Driver’s license …REQUIRED
· OSHA card and Security Passport are preferred
Mobile Crane Operator Physical Requirements:
· Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods, and lift to 60lbs
· Ability to operate a vehicle
· Ability to climb on, into, and out of equipment
· Ability to work outdoors at elevated heights, tolerate multiple terrain and environmental variations
· Ability to communicate via radio
· Excellent hand-eye coordination
· Basic mechanical aptitude
· Knowledge of appropriate safety procedures
· Climbing of ladders, stairs, and structures.
Mobile Crane Operator Key Responsibilities:
· Operate mobile cranes to lift, maneuver, and place materials and equipment according to project specifications and safety guidelines
· Be able to read, interpret, and calculate the load percentage by utilizing the load charts of the crane’s owner and operation manual as well as blueprints, and lifting plans to determine appropriate lifting methods and procedures
· Be able to program the crane's computer in proper set-up mode, set-up crane on location in a safe and professional manner
· Perform pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance on mobile cranes to ensure optimal performance and safety; fills out vehicle inspection report before operating the vehicle. Turns in inspection reports
· Communicate effectively with ground crew, signal persons, and other team members to coordinate lifting and placement tasks
· Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment and prevent accidents along with safe lifting of the load, proper set-up of crane, while maintaining Customer focus. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles. Follows all safety and environmental policies while performing the job task
· Troubleshoot and address any issues or malfunctions with crane equipment promptly, reporting major issues to the supervisor.
· Maintain detailed records of crane operations, maintenance activities
· If not on a job assignment, informs the supervisor and is productive by inspecting, cleaning, and performing maintenance on the equipment
· Understands and can perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load.
· Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (e.g. greasing, oiling, fueling, inspecting)
· Monitor changes in equipment performance and reports potential malfunctions to the supervisor.
· Keep the equipment and work area clean and tidy
· Maintain daily recordkeeping and reporting
· Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
