Job Summary:
We are looking for a full time Slinger Truck Operator to haul, dump, and place various materials at job sites utilizing the Slinger Truck equipment.
*This assignment will require routine work outside the operator’s seat*
To be successful as a Slinger Truck Operator, you need to be able to pick up and deliver materials according to schedule and plan. You will be required to maintain good communication with the trucking Foreman and on-site Superintendents to ensure timely and accurate completion of the work. Ultimately, a top-performing Slinger Truck Operator should perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with company safety rules and Department of Transportation (DOT) road safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Attend equipment specific training and maintain a high level of attention and detail to ensure proper operation of equipment
- Transporting materials to and from specified locations according job schedule and provide support to successful completion of work
- Verify the types of materials being transported and ensuring that they do not exceed weight restrictions.
- Ensuring that the materials are loaded correctly onto the truck
- Maneuver the truck into loading or unloading positions, following signals from site personnel as needed, check that the vehicle position is correct and use skills to properly maneuver and operate conveyor
- Self-manage schedules, timecards, work orders, load counts, or any other administrative tasks as needed while maintaining open communication with Project Managers and Superintendents.
- Inspecting the truck and equipment before and after every trip and performing regular operator level maintenance to ensure the equipment maintains good working order as well as clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary
- Promptly report any accidents, injuries or mechanical faults to management
- Operate equipment on public roadways and tight construction sites, maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings at all times
- Comply with all safety rules and regulation
Requirements:
- Must possess current Class B CDL and D.O.T. Medical Card
- Must have physical ability to stand strenuous and dangerous work environmental
- Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written
- Possess leadership and management skills relevant to the position
- Maintain a keen eye to details and possess good decision-making skills
- Ability to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Flexible to work during odd hours and weekends depending on job demands and schedule
- Initiative to take personal responsibility for the operation and care of this specialized equipment and understand the importance of the extra work involved in the cleaning and maintenance
- Ability to operate equipment on public roadways and tight construction sites, maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings
All positions require your own transportation to and from jobsites which vary within the Metro Nashville area and surrounding counties. All positions as Full-Time commonly a 6-day work week Monday-Saturday. All are Non-Exempt positions.
