Civil Science is seeking an experienced Seasonal Construction Engineer/Inspector to join our team during the busy construction season based out of either Dickinson or Williston, North Dakota. As a seasonal member of our team, you will oversee and ensure the successful execution of construction projects, playing a crucial role in managing and inspecting various construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, plans, and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, codes, and standards.
- Monitor construction progress and quality, ensuring projects meet timelines and budgets.
- Review and interpret technical documents like engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Identify and resolve construction issues, coordinating with stakeholders for smooth execution.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and project documentation, including change orders.
- Maintain accurate records of construction activities and materials testing.
- Perform various testing and inspection duties, operating equipment and providing data assessments.
- Make detailed observations, interpret results, and maintain documentation of test data.
- Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
- Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure personal and others' safety at work.
- Identify survey/staking needs and coordinate with surveyors.
- High School diploma or equivalent required, technical degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction engineering and inspection, preferably in transportation projects.
- Construction and/or Material Testing Certifications from NDDOT preferred, but not required
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
