Civil Solutions is seeking an Engineering Co-op/Intern to assist with geotechnical engineering, field services, and construction management activities. Responsibilities include on-site testing and monitoring, data collection using drones, assisting with AutoCAD drawings, and preparing reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide on-site testing and monitoring for geotechnical engineering and construction projects.
- Perform concrete, proof-roll, compaction, drilled shaft, and other testing and monitoring procedures.
- Perform field instrumentation for inclinometers, settlement plate monitoring, brick line surveys, surveying, etc.
- Utilize a drone and software to capture aerial imagery of ongoing projects and create models.
- Use and care for engineering and drafting instruments and equipment.
- Create and edit engineered drawings, plans, and specifications for a variety of geotechnical and construction projects using AutoCAD and Carlson.
- Assist in the preparation of geotechnical letters, reports, and proposals.
- Document all testing procedures and results using Microsoft Word standardized forms.
- Utilize a digital camera to capture and document site conditions.
- Prepare and submit daily reports for work performed on the job site.
- Work collaboratively with other departments and staff to assist in the completion of SOQs, bid packages, and cost estimates.
- Interpret plans and technical details.
- Ensure coordination and completion of documents to facilitate timely invoicing and/or vendor payment.
- Practice and enforce safety policies.
- Actively report new leads and new projects to Mentor or VP.
- Perform work in a productive and ethical fashion.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Pursuit of a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or a similar field of study at an accredited institution.
- Interest in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to travel locally in the Greater Cincinnati and Tri-state Area.
- Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to use/learn software and technology such as DroneDeploy, inclinometers, surveying equipment, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- OSHA certifications are a plus.
- CAD experience is a plus.
