Geotechnical Investigations:
- Conduct comprehensive site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions, groundwater levels, and other geotechnical factors.
- Analyze site investigation data to identify potential geotechnical hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Design stable and secure foundations and other structural components, considering the site's geotechnical characteristics.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests on soil and rock samples.
- Prepare clear and concise geotechnical reports documenting investigation findings, laboratory results, and slope stability analyses.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and construction professionals to integrate geotechnical considerations into project designs.
- Utilize geotechnical software to perform design calculations for earth retention structures and deep foundation systems.
- Prepare detailed design drawings in AutoCAD for various geotechnical structures, including (but not limited to) soldier pile and lagging walls, soil nails, modular block retaining walls, micropiles, helical piles, and foundation piles.
- Provide technical support to construction crews and contractors, including plan review, quality control testing, and guidance on geotechnical issues.
- Contribute to project proposals and business development initiatives.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Ohio or Kentucky (or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Experience working as a Geotechnical Engineer, preferably in the Cincinnati area.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and practices, including soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability analysis.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software (e.g., Geo5, DeepEx, LPile).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
