Civil Works Contracting is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Site Superintendent to lead and oversee projects in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing large-scale civil construction projects, with a focus on infrastructure, earthworks, and utilities. The Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of the civil works project, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Manage day-to-day operations on the construction site, including supervising field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and safety regulations.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets or exceeds industry standards and project requirements.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the job site. Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate work activities and resolve any issues that arise during construction. Maintain effective communication with all parties involved in the project.
- Maintain accurate records of daily construction activities, including work progress, equipment usage, and materials inventory. Prepare and submit regular reports to the project manager.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of NCDOT and Heavy Highway
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of civil construction practices, including earthworks, utilities, roadways, and structures. Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in North Carolina.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods, climbing, and lifting heavy objects
