What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Testing Technician position at civilscience?
Civil Science is currently seeking a qualified Materials Testing Technician who holds a WAQTC (Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction) certification to join our Twin Falls team. In this role, you will play a vital role in the success of the firm and its various Roadway related Construction Projects. Ideally, we are looking to hire a full-time position, but we are open to someone looking for a seasonal contract-based type of arrangement. In addition to an extremely competitive base wage we also offer over-time pay, company vehicle, and a generous benefit structure is offered.
Requirements
- Perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials (e.g., soil, asphalt, concrete, and aggregates) in accordance with WAQTC standards.
- Assist in sample collection, preparation, and analysis for quality control and assurance.
- Document and report test results accurately.
- Support engineers and technicians in evaluating material performance.
- Follow safety protocols and industry best practices in a laboratory and field setting.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment as needed.
- Prior experience with construction materials testing in either a field or lab setting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- WAQTC Certification
- IQP Certification
- Nuclear Gauge Certification
- ACI Certification
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass both a criminal background check and driving record review
- Ability to work M-F, occasional Saturdays and 20% travel.
