Summary of Position:

The Staff Accountant records non-op revenue from the sale of oil and gas production by the Company and works with Division Orders on responding to owner relation questions.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Obtain non-op purchaser detail for funds wired directly into bank accounts.
  • Enter non-op revenue detail in Bolo accounting system. 
  • Enter routine and non-routine journal entries in Bolo accounting system.
  • Void and re-issue revenue checks.
  • Help process reverse and rebooks during month-end close.
  • Prepare and file quarterly Colorado conservation tax.
  • Coordinate with Division Orders and respond to owner relations questions through Sales Force.  
  • Prepare the month end non-op revenue accruals to support the month end financial reporting process.
  • Update and maintain monthly reconciliations.
  • Process revenue owner adjustments as needed / requested.
  • Assist department in maintaining compliance within Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), US and other relevant GAAP, and company policies.
  • Prepare revenue source documentation for audit requests and other special projects as assigned.
  • Assure all work performed adheres to CIVI standards.
  • Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or Finance, or an equivalent of an additional 2 years of experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 360 products (Outlook, Excel, Word) required with advanced skills in Excel in particular. 
  • Certified Public Accountant license a plus. 
  • BOLO, Excalibur, or other P2 system experience a plus.

Travel Requirements:

  • Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
  • Travel required to the Civitas field locations.
