Position Overview :

The Finance Specialist is a strategic partner in managing the financial health and sustainability of CJ Chemicals, LLC. This role is involved with all financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, preparing reports, process and maintain customer and supplier information, provide strategic planning to ensure that the company’s financial objectives align with its broader goals. This position will report to the COO.

Key Responsibilities :

Accounts Payable (AP) :

  • Match purchase orders to invoices; investigate & resolve any discrepancies.
  • Track cash flow; verify, process & ensure timely electronic payment of invoices.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date & within agreed terms.

Onboarding Customers and Suppliers :

  • Coordinate & review the information required to establish new customer & vendor accounts.
  • Record, process & maintain up-to-date customer & supplier information in the financial system.
  • Conduct regular reviews of existing accounts to ensure all necessary documentation is valid & current.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) :

  • Create & issue customer invoices.
  • Monitor payments & follow up on any outstanding invoices.
  • Support Collections Manager to review & reconcile customer accounts; issue monthly statements; resolve discrepancies or disputes.
  • Strategic Planning

  • Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership to support decision-making.
  • Develop strategies to optimize cost efficiencies and improve profitability.
  • Reporting & Communication

  • Communicate financial performance metrics to stakeholders effectively.
  • Maintain transparency in financial reporting to ensure stakeholder trust.
  • Qualifications :

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in financial management or accounting roles.
  • Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Our ideal candidate would be Michigan-based & available for initial in-person training, plus able to join team meetings up to one-half day per week.
