Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Producing and cooking food according to menus, recipes and portions established by Chef.
- Ensure all meals are produce on a timely manner and line is ready 30 prior to each meal period.
- Ensure proper food and equipment temperature are maintain day according to guidelines.
- Ensure pre-meal tasting plates are ready for all pre-shift meetings.
- Must be knowledgeable and possess ability to operate applicable kitchen equipment, with working knowledge of food items.
- Maintains proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards while preparing food, serving food and clean-up.
- Set-up and break-down cook line in orderly fashion and transport product to serving area and proper storing as needed.
- Keep work area and serving line equipment clean and adhere to sanitation cleaning schedules.
- Ensure quality and visual presentation of food.
- Exhibit proper cutting skills and knife safety adherence.
- Assist other associates to ensure all kitchen duties are completed within given time constraints.
- Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner when dealing with customers.
- Ensure that food supply stocks are rotated on a FIFO system and perishables are labeled, dated, and stored properly.
- Perform all duties in adherence to CJE SeniorLife standards.
- Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
- Maintain a positive and profession demeanor toward all residents, visitors and coworkers.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of CJE SeniorLife. Adhere to all directives, policies, and procedures of the local community.
- Adhere to specifications and guidelines established by chef / director and perform other duties as assigned.

Education and / or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or two to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
