CJF America is a nonprofit that provides resources to the underserved and underrepresented communities through adult educational programming, learning academies for children, and youth council initiatives.
Responsibilities
CJF America is now hiring for the position of Executive Director based in Roxboro, North America. This position reports to the Associate Vice President.
- Foster partnerships with local community organizations.
- Attend local council, board and committee meetings to build relationships with state legislators, the Chamber of Commerce and the local government agencies.
- Oversee the daily operations of each individual community center’s programming, staff and community outreach efforts.
- Structure CJF America programming and initiatives by working with the community and its partners to utilize resources to carry out the mission of the organization.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President of Operations (AVP) to identify the needs of the community and implement initiatives for CJF America programming.
- Assist in developing and implementing plans and goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Hire, onboard and train staff as needs are identified.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, community development, social work, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3-7 years of leadership experience in community development, nonprofit program management, or public administration, with a proven ability to manage large-scale programs in urban communities.
- Extensive experience working with local Housing Authorities and community-based organizations.
- Experience overseeing the implementation of economic development, education, and healthcare initiatives within underserved urban communities.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities, with a focus on driving results in dynamic and diverse community settings.
- Excellent strategic thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to develop and manage budgets, secure funding, and deploy resources effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders, including local leaders, government representatives, and residents.
- Ability to build trust and strong relationships with internal and external partners, fostering collaboration and community ownership.
