Job Description:
CJR is looking for an IT Generalist to work in conjunction with the IT Team Lead and IT Technician, and assist with all daily and on-going functions of the Technology Department and mission of the organization. In addition, this position will provide user support for systems and networks; assist with the development, implementation and management of IT systems; and be responsible for maintaining day-to-day network functioning and computer support for all employees. Maintaining confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network is essential.
A candidate should be able to successfully navigate through our environment of 10 sites (including a school and residential programs) throughout Connecticut with 15 Windows Servers, 400 computers, and 80 Chromebooks. The department supports a Windows Server environment with VMs, Microsoft 365, a Google Workspace environment, Aruba Switches, Untangle Firewall, Unifi Surveillance and WiFi, Cellphones, various printers and VOIP systems.

- Provide Hardware and Software support for all users at local and remote sites. This support will be provided by phone, in utilizing remote access software as well as on site. Employee will isolate and resolve Hardware, Software and user issues in order to ensure that users will be able to effectively perform their tasks. All support incidents will be fully documented.
- Help provide training on how to use hardware and software. Training will take place in both group settings and individual sessions, as well as during troubleshooting. Employees will motivate their colleagues to take advantage of the training options available.
- Job responsibilities include periodic maintenance on all hardware systems. This includes regularly scheduled cleaning of systems as well as updating of all software to ensure that patch levels are maintained.
- Work with the IT team to ensure that all back-up system procedures are being performed accurately and frequently. Perform a rotating testing of data restoration. Maintain documentation of backups.
- Assist with special projects, equipment rollouts, software upgrades and other functions of the department as needed. These tasks may need to be done “off-hours” so employee must be able to have some flexibility to work different hours if necessary. These tasks will be scheduled in advance wherever possible.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or professional IT certification OR at least 3-years of experience in maintenance of Information Technology – 1 is Required
- Strong professional customer service skills – Required
- Be able to lift at least 30 pounds and climb ladders – Required
- A Valid Motor Vehicle Driver's license (utilize company vehicle) - Required

Work Schedule & Rate of Pay:
- Monday-Friday flexible hours between 8:30am-4:30pm (35 hours per week)
- May require occasional evening hours or weekend for special projects
- $55,000 - $65,000 per year
