JOB SUMMARY: The Material Handler is responsible for moving product throughout the facility utilizing a forklift at our warehouse. This is a second shift position - 12:00pm-8:30pm, Monday through Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Transport ingredients from freezers, coolers and dry warehouse into production room using a forklift.
- Using a forklift, bring finished goods to appropriate area of warehouse.
- Shipping & receiving, inbound & outbound deliveries.
- Return unused ingredients to proper location.
- Assist in keeping the work area clean and organized as needed.
- Notify Line Lead, Chief Lead, Distribution Manager or Plant Manager of inferior product issues or equipment that is not working properly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by HSF Management, Supervisors and/or Leads.
- Perform all duties in compliance with USDA or FDA, OSHA and state and local regulations and company policies and procedures; including safety guidelines and the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- 1 year or more experience operating a standup forklift
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Have the ability to comprehend basic verbal instructions and read product labels and production sheets in English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Ability to lift, push, pull carry up to 5 pounds repetitively and up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently while performing repetitive twisting and reaching motions with hands, wrists and/or arms.
- Ability to bend, squat and reach above shoulders frequently.
- Ability to walk frequently
- Ability to stand for an entire shift.
- Work in an environment that is between 35 and 40 degrees above zero Fahrenheit for an entire shift.
- No minimum education requirement; High School diploma or GED or equivalent preferred.
- 6 months experience in a food production facility preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.57 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
