Job Summary:
The Project Manager is an exempt position responsible for overall project management of construction projects, with direct accountability for project deliverability.
Essential Tasks:
•Assist in preconstruction during bid phase and in development of project budget.
•Prepare construction schedules and monitor and manage schedule performance.
•Conduct periodic site visits to monitor the progress of construction, looking for ways to expedite and predict problems.
•Monitor project budgets and implement corrective action as appropriate; Responsible for job profitability
•Track each phase and each milestone of the project, monitoring times, costs, quality and risks.
•Review status of work completed during the period covered, review that work is generally proceeding in a good and workmanlike manner and in general accordance with the approved drawings and specifications.
•Conduct client and/or subcontractor Meetings. Serve as primary client contact and is responsible for problem resolution related to projects.
•Maintain excellent working relationship with existing clients and secure additional future projects with these clients.
•Cultivate new clients to secure future projects.
•Serve as liaison between office and field.
Qualifications:
•Ability to manage multiple bids and projects at the same time.
•In-depth knowledge of project management.
•Advanced knowledge of construction principles and practices required.
•Experience leading successful project teams, including development of employees.
•Excellent communication skills.
•High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
•Demonstrated decision making skills.
•Physically able to work seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and abilities listed qualifies.
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction science or related field is preferred.
•The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of construction management experience; Preference given to underground heavy civil utility construction experience.
Work Hours: The normal work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm at the CK Contractors and Development, LLC office.
