Summary: Responsible for completing food preparation and performing basic kitchen responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of the business by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation following planned menus accurately and on schedule according to schools’ submitted orders.
- Perform skilled cooking duties following planned menus accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare and serve food according to menus and portion controls.
- Follow cooking directions precisely to maintain high standards of food quality and consistency.
- Observe food preparation and cooking, portion sizes, and garnishing to ensure food is prepared correctly.
- Clean and maintain kitchen facilities.
- Sweep the kitchen floor as necessary and at the end of each day.
- Place dishes in the dishwasher and clean dishes in the three-compartment sink as needed.
- Stock dishes and silverware as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area within company and state standards.
- Receive food supplies, check for correctness, temperature, quality, and quantity, and ensure they are stored properly.
- Adhere to the First In, First Out (FIFO) method for inventory management to maintain food quality and safety.
- Take care of kitchen equipment and report any repairs needed.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Prior restaurant experience is helpful.
Minimum 1 year of experience in the food service industry.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
