Summary/Objective
The Commercial Estimator II is responsible for doing intermediate material take-offs to develop project estimates from blueprints or other drawings provided.
Essential Functions

- Complete full-cycle bidding process for commercial projects including small multi-family units, including reviewing blueprints, creating quotes, pricing material, and placing orders.
- Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
- Informs the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.
- Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
- Ensure proper slab utilization through MeasureSquare to lower waste percentage.
- Work directly with vendors and negotiate pricing for large projects when necessary.
- Provides submittals and shop drawings as needed using CAD and 2020.
- Enter and maintain all quotes in company’s internal tracking system.
- Works with project manager to coordinate project handoffs.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience using 2020 design software
- Experience in interior design, specifically with cabinetry design
- Experience using MeasureSquare and Bluebeam software
- Commitment to customer service and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Punctual, accountable and able to accomplish tasks within a given deadline
- Able to assess and prioritize tasks and demands
- Able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good computer skills, experience using Microsoft Suite
Preferred Education and Experience
- Degree in Business, Interior Design, or related field
- Ability to read blueprints or construction plans to develop take-offs and cost estimates
- Experience using or knowledge of CAD software
- Experience working on commercial projects in any function
