What are the responsibilities and job description for the TEMP 0.5 Agricultural Science CTE Teacher (Planning) position at Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences (CAIS)?
Responsibilities:
- Planning and preparation for the 25-26 school year developing an Agriculture CTE program.
- Must have occupational knowledge and skills in areas such as animal science, soil science, plant science, agriculture mechanics, leadership training and personal development, agriculture business management, safety, horticulture; and career preparation.
- Serves as advisor to the Future Farmers of America Chapter.
- Organizes and maintains an active agricultural science advisory committee.
- Develops the process of and oordinates the placement, supervision, and evaluation of students on internship and cooperative work experience sites as assigned.
- Ensures that instructional activities and materials are clearly related to District, school, program, and course goals and objectives.
- Conducts and prepares a program that includes engaging and well-paced classes using a variety of instructional techniques, strategies, and materials appropriate to the lesson.
- Selects and requisitions required instructional equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Ensures that materials and equipment are properly used, maintained and stored, and that inventory records are accurate and current.
- Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
- Participates cooperatively in school, area, and district-wide activities.
- Follows specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and District.
Minimum Qualifications
- Oregon Teaching Certificate valid for the assignment or Professional Technical Teaching License satisfying Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) requirements for teaching professional technical courses in agricultural science and/or horticulture.
- Demonstrated ability to relate positively with students, teachers, administrators, employers, parents, and the community. Demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for employment in agriculture occupations.
Additional Qualifications:
Professional Technical endorsement in Agriculture Science & Technology desired.
This TEMPORARY position is 0.5 FTE for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.
