Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire a
Mathematics Instructor (Part-Time)
position. This is a
term-by-term, union, exempt, and non or benefits-eligible

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any subject, with college transcripted Calculus I and II or Statistics.
- The ability to communicate effectively as a teacher and to operate as an effective member of a team.
College-level Math Courses
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field with coursework in Calculus or Statistics or an Advanced Math High School endorsement is required.
Calculus and Higher-Level Math Courses
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field with 18 graduate quarter hours (12 semester credit hours) in mathematics or mathematics education is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to support students in both Spanish and English highly desired.
- Previous teaching experience in a related field.

Essential Job Functions
- Instruct students in a classroom, lab, or other setting as appropriate.
- Provide student support through office hours and virtual options (phone, email, zoom, etc.).
- Prepare, distribute, and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media, and technology as appropriate. Current technology may include Desmos, ChatGPT, Moodle, MyOpenMath, Spreadsheets, and digital discussion/engagement platforms.
- Structure classes and curriculum to correspond with the approved course and program learning outcomes, course content outlines, and summative assessments.
- Understand and abide by policies and procedures as required by the college, division, or department.
- Convene classes on time and as scheduled.
- Maintain evaluation and grading records for assigned students; enters grades and provides all necessary documentation for incompletes within established college timelines and guidelines.
- Understand and use the college's digital system using a college issued device.

Physical Demands of the Position
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility, including the use of step stools in order to retrieve archived materials. Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis such as papers, files, boxes, equipment, computers, etc., and rarely requires moving materials weighing over 25 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, monitor, projector, calculator, printer, and standard office equipment.

- Work environment includes classroom, lab, or other setting as appropriate.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel and may assign work to student workers.

Terms of Employment
- This position will be eligible to work remotely up to (2) days per week in accordance with the CCC policy.
- All positions at CCC are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college and requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
- CCC employees must reside within 50 miles of the Oregon City, Harmony or Wilsonville campus as a condition of employment.
