CLACKAMAS COUNTY CHILDREN'S COMMISSION, INC.COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS SPECIALIST

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To advance community awareness and engagement in the programs, services, and initiatives offered by Clackamas County Children’s Commission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Social media and online communications
  • At the direction of the FCCD, oversees social media platforms and agency website.
  • Utilize an editorial content calendar to create/post content and plan-specific, timely marketing and/or advocacy campaigns in alignment with program and/or departmental needs
  • Utilize analytical tools and metrics to evaluate efficacy of public communication strategies and establish future goals
  • Ensure that CCCC’s presence online is accurate, and in alignment with current branding guidelines, to include partner websites, donation databases, childcare registries, and other relevant platforms
  • Develop and provide frequent reports to a variety of internal and external stakeholders, to include general month-end reporting
  • Consider industry best practices for online community engagement/content, with a focus on risk assessment and mitigation
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on available and emergent technologies.

  • In coordination with the Community and Family Connections Director, strategically plan and conduct outreach activities that promote awareness and education of agency mission, programs, and services, utilizing a variety of in-person and virtual methods.
  • Utilizes project management platform to strategically plan, conduct, and evaluate events and activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify community events that support agency goals and ensure agency participation.
  • Establish/maintain positive relationships with a variety of community stakeholders that create opportunities for advancing the CCCC mission
  • Pursue efforts to keep the CCCC public image positive
  • Accurately identify agency opportunities resulting from outreach efforts and coordinate efficient and timely project transfers to appropriate internal stakeholders.

Content creation

  • At the direction of the Family & Communication Connections Director, develop, design, and produce high-quality and effective public materials and information representative of the agency, to include: agency brochures, website content, annual Impact report content, social media content, news releases, video productions, etc.
  • Consults with component managers to ensure public-facing materials are of high-quality, effective, and consistent in messaging, identity, branding, and professionalism.

  • Ensure that all activities conducted through the component are executed in alignment with the agency’s commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Ensure work is conducted in compliance with applicable policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Carry out special projects as assigned

  • Arrive to work on time; punctually attend and actively participate in all required activities, meetings, and trainings.
  • Be a respectful, cooperative, and reliable team member and participant in program activities.

  • Be familiar with, and adhere to, position-related policies and procedures as well as the program’s overarching objectives.
  • Follow Agency policy/procedures for reporting and documenting suspected child abuse and/or neglect.

Perform all work in compliance with the Clackamas County Children’s Commission Code of Conduct.

Confidentiality:

Respect and maintain confidentiality of information regarding enrolled children and families, personnel issues, and other program operations as appropriate.

Training:

In consultation with supervisor, develop professional work goals and training plan. Participate in training as requested.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or closely related field
  • Two years of experience successfully executing marketing/public relations for a non-profit entity
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (verbal, reading, and writing) preferred.

Continuation of all positions is contingent upon future funding.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or closely related field

Two years of experience successfully executing marketing/public relations for a non-profit entity

Fluent in both English and Spanish (verbal, reading, and writing) preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Creative content development including: presentation skills, graphic design, storytelling

Strong creative problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities

Strong initiative and ability to manage independent and collaborative projects

Ability to receive and incorporate feedback

Ability to effectively utilize a variety of online tools and platforms for marketing, social media, branding, and graphic design (Monday.com, Canva, Adobe, Hootsuite, as examples)

Ability to utilize data to inform planning and decision-making

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, to successfully manage time and quality

Ability to positively interact with families of various culture, family structure, gender, age, sexuality, ability, religion, and socio-economic backgrounds

Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insured vehicle available for use on the job (or have alternative transportation).

Ability to possess and maintain compliance with State of Oregon Criminal Background Registry.

Ability to possess and maintain current First Aid/CPR certification.

Ability to effectively navigate computer databases
